Summer is finally here and so comes the time to get all our summer outfits out or to buy new one’s to stay with the trend, look stylish and be our best. There’s nothing quite as exciting as buying new clothes and keeping up with the latest trends. But as college students, we can all relate to not always having the funds for such a thing. Sometimes you want to rock a brand-new look but simply can’t afford to break the bank over a new shirt. But, we’ve got you covered! Here are some of my favorite ways to wear the same shirt in different ways and still look and feel good!
A good shirt is one item that most of us have in our wardrobe and shirts are the most comfortable piece of clothing. But unlike what most of us believe, shirts can make one look just so common and boring. When it comes to fun style staples, a simple button-down doesn’t exactly top the list. True, they tend to come in handy on days that call for polished or preppy, but other than that, these shirts pretty much stay tucked away in the back of our closets until they’re needed again.
Perhaps, though, we’ve underestimated this not-so-basic basic, because according to a few styles created by me as shown below, there’s more than one way to wear a shirt. Keep reading to see all the ways you can take a simple shirt from boring to bold.
Things you need
Just your favourite shirt. (A solid colour, checks or any other shirt would do).
Step 1: Wear your shirt without putting your hands through your sleeves and button it up.
Step 2: Take the sleeves of both sides and tie it together or you can even tuck them inside the front side of your shirt.
Now you have your very own DIY tube. You can also wear this short tube with a jacket.
The Off Shoulder
Step 1: Wear your shirt as you usually do, but leave 2 to 3 buttons on the top undone and button the rest.
Step 2: Tuck your shirt into your pants. Now tuck the collar in and slide it off your shoulders.
That’s all you need for this feminine look to flaunt those collar-bones.
Shrugged off one shoulder
Step 1: Wear one sleeve of your shirt as you usually do and then take the other half of the shirt under your arm and wear it without putting your hands through the sleeves and then button the shirt. One sleeve of the shirt will look the same way as when you’re tubing it.
Step 2: Take the hanging sleeve and tuck it in your pants in the opposite direction. You can also pin it up if you want.
So now you are ready to rock this shrugged off
one shoulder shirt.
